Trip to Chicago

September 20, 2009

Back in September we took a trip to Chicago right in time before the cold weather made it to the Windy City. We stayed minutes away from The Chicago Pier and of course close to Michigan Ave. where all the good shopping is located!

While in Chicago my mom had the chance to come in town and “babysit” Kaylee while we got to spend a few nights out on the town!

Last but not least we had to take Kaylee to the American Girl store. Wow she better not want one of the $150 dolls! I have a feeling Kaylee will not be as girly girl as these dolls are, but you never know! 😉

Bath Time!

Kaylee loves her bath time and she just looks so cute! I have yet to take her to the pool, but Mike has taken her once or twice. Soon we will be taking her swimming lessons and will be sure to post pictures of that soon.

OK now get out of here!

Kaylee’s One!

August 25, 2009

On August 8th we celebrated Kaylee’s 1st birthday at our house with many friends. Note to self: next year will be a lot smaller! It was a bit overwhelming for little Miss Kaylee,  but she did have a very good time. We had many activities from water balloons,   slip and slide, decorating flower pots and of course enjoying each other.

As you can tell Kaylee had a wardrobe change…. just to many cute outfits for our cute little girl! As you can tell mommy had a wardrobe change also!

As you can tell Kaylee seemed very excited about the cake and I was a bit excited about a messy baby. But in the end Kaylee hated having messy fingers and especially having about 20 “strangers” watching her in all her fun. Oh well maybe next year will hopefully be messier!

These are a few of my favorite pictures from her party. She’s has some of the best expressions, I could add at least 5 more great ones!

Last but not least I had to get a pic of some of the girls!

Trip to Detroit

June 20, 2009

DSC_0290

A few weeks ago we visited Detroit to see family and to watch the Red Bull Air Races. While we were in town we did get the chance to be in all the excitement of the Stanley Cup, but unfortunately the Red Wings lost or as Mike would say, “thank goodness they lost! ” LOL!

DSC_0054

Before the races began we sang the national anthem and while we did a person came out of a plane while holding the flag… very impressive!

As you can tell Kaylee puts everything in her mouth, but what baby doesn’t! Today we did see that she cut her first tooth, finally! After almost 11 months her teeth are coming out from hiding. Very weird that her teeth have come during the time of Michael Jackson’s death, for I cut my first tooth the day Elvis died!

Since the last 2 months we’ve had a lot of good, bad and just plain sad. I know a lot of you may know that Mike’s dad recently passed away and if you did not get the pleasure to meet him than you really missed out. There are many wonderful memories about him and he will be greatly missed. Needless to say we were traveling back and forth so that Kaylee and Michael (Mike’s dad) could spend some time together and of course so we could do the same. During the time in Colorado we also saw many other family members which was very nice also.

Easter was spent in Evergreen, CO and the last day we spent with Michael. The day of Easter we went to Mass and spent the day surrounding Michael with family and friends telling stories and reading versus to him.

Mike and Kaylee looked especially cute, both matching and wearing pink 🙂

DSC00515This picture cracks me up! It looks as though Kaylee’s cousin Evan is about to slug her, but Kaylee’s about to block it! Plus cousin Cary thinks it’s way funny also!

Party Girl!

This is one of my favorite outfits of Kaylee’s. We took this picture in April and yes I know I’m very behind on my blogging 😉

You’ve just gotta love that we made Kaylee look like she has a tattoo!

Kaylee’s First Snow!

March 5, 2009

snow-in-atlanta

Once again a lot has happened since my last post and we are so thankful with everything. We are thankful that we have good health, each other and especially good jobs! I recently switched companies (Alliance Residential) and am opening up a new community (Glenwood East) for them this week. Things are great and very fun! The best thing about it all is that it’s only 2 miles away from our house! Mike’s job is still the same, in and out every week or every other week. He was in Canada for awhile and now I believe he may be doing a project in D.C. brrrr!

As for Kaylee she is growing, growing, growing! She is a little over 17 pounds now and is very “talkative!” She has started waiving and it’s still not perfect but is very close to it:) I’m starting on a playroom for her which is going to be located in our loft area. I’m hoping to have it done by the end of March and will post pictures of it when it is finished.

Can you believe we got 3 inches of snow in Atlanta!

Very overdue!

February 12, 2009

I have no excuse! We have been places and done big things with Kaylee, but I have slacked on putting up pics and keeping everyone informed. One of the most important things Kaylee has done in her life is visiting the original Chick-fil-A Dwarf house in Hapeville, GA. This place is a great memory of mine due to me living in Hapeville the first 5 years in Georgia. I loved living in a house with 4 girls and a guy and the Dwarf House was of course our dinner or lunch at least 3-4 times a week!

Oh another small detail in the past few weeks are that Kaylee has been sitting up on her own, she’s eating solids and she turned 6 months old on February 8… but it doesn’t even compare to the Dwarf House! 😉

)

Look Kaylee is already 4 feet tall at only 5 months and 2 weeks! Actually the door is only about 4 feet tall, I'm sure you were fooled 🙂

I never knew how much work it really was to feed someone that has never eaten solids ever, wow! We fed her solids about 3 weeks ago and she has had the pleasure of having applesauce, sweet potatoes, carrots and the green beans. The green beans were a bit of a struggle, but at last she has grown to enjoy them. Oh and of course she tried to eat the bowl, and whatever else she can get in her mouth!

Happy New Year!

) We took this right before Mike made a lobster bisque and yes i had to be the murder to two lobsters. Oh it's an urban legend that they scream!

Yes this lobster was alive, but as you can tell all taped up so no babies were hurt during this picture! 🙂 We took this right before Mike made a lobster bisque and yes I had to be the murderer to two lobsters. By the way it's an urban legend that they scream.

Santa Baby….

December 30, 2008

Kaylee had a great time during her first Christmas and of course she liked the cheapest gift…. wrapping paper!
